I’m still here!

If anyone were to come to my website, they might have thought I abandoned ship…but don’t worry, I’m still here! This year has looked a lot differently for my business as I’m finally picking up more clients in the Kansas City area and not coming to Louisville, Ky as much. I’m not one for marketing myself well, and I mainly grow my business with word of mouth and Lord knows I’m a terrible blogger, so that’s why it’s been quiet over here on my website. I’ve also been using Instagram a lot to share my recent work. This website will get a fresh new face some day, but in the mean time, you’ll want to follow me on IG! Thank you, whomever you are, for coming to my page and wanting to learn more about my photography. I really would love to chat with you. Click the contact page or find me on Instagram to reach out to me! I would love to photograph this moment in your life.

Katie – Wedding Prep – Louisville, Ky

Along with photographing weddings this summer, I had the privilege of being a matron of honor in one of my best friend’s wedding. I took a few shots of Katie before the photographer was with us and couldn’t wait to share them. This girl means the world to me! She and her husband Stedmon are in Disney World this week, and I hope they’re having the time of their lives!

New Puppy

Meet ______. That’s right, he is nameless at the moment. This naming thing is hard. He is a Shiba Inu and 3 months old. Alex has been working hard at warming me up to the idea of getting another dog. So when I went to Louisville this past weekend, I picked one up ;)  Alex has wanted a Shiba Inu for a while, it’s crazy to think we actually have one now! He is a handful, but so unbelievably and ridiculously adorable and lovable. Lilah is warming up to him.

Update! We have named him, Milo.

Mad Hatter Tea Party Bridal Shower

A few months ago I gave my best friend, Nickie, a Mad Hatter Tea Party Bridal Shower. Nickie is a lover of all things Disney and requested this theme. I couldn’t have been more excited to do this for her! I collected things from my mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, my own house and visited many peddler’s malls. I designed the invitations and hand wrote the tags. My friends and family helped so much, but I’m thinking I need to make the incentive a little better than left over Little Debbie Snacks. It was quite a whimsical afternoon.

This is one of my favorites of Nickie and her mom, Annette!

just hair

Untitled-1small I recently cut all my hair off in honor of my mom and her journey through breast cancer. She has been so inspiring to me and has been an amazing role model of Christ. You can read her blog here.

changing it up a bit

In honor of my mom, I chopped some hair off. This is only the beginning. Please take some time to hear about my mom’s journey through breast cancer and the amazing ways God teachers her and uses her: http://www.beckyott.wordpress.com

Jubalson – The Bard’s Town – Louisville, Ky

As I said in my last post, I have been traveling with my brother’s band Jubalson. We ended the tour with a show at home in Louisville. I have had a blast photographing these past shows and had the privilege to sing with them the past 3 shows.

If you would like to vote for Jubalson (and I know you do!) TODAY IS THE LAST DAY! Head over to Hard Rock Cafe Louisville. “Like” the Hard Rock Cafe Facebook page and then look for Jubalson and donwload the FREE song to vote! Thanks for listening :)

The beginning of an exciting season!

It has been quite some time since I have added something new on my blog…and I am greatly sorry. Life is crazy as we all know, but seriously, that’s no excuse! This is marking the day that I will do everything I can to reach out to my blog viewers and clients and share more about myself and my work. It may not be interesting at times, but whose life is exciting ALL the time? Beginning of April, I will be posting wedding after wedding, and I say that now so that I can read this again and remind myself to post something new! It is so exciting to be back in the swing of things with photography. It feels like my camera has been hanging in my closet just waiting for me to put it on. My husband Alex and I are starting a fresh new season in life, and I plan on sharing along the way. I praise God that we have such a blessed life. Please don’t hesitate to comment/email at any time! I would love to hear from you!

Sincerely, Whitney K.
